Ethiopia prioritizes dev’t partnership, multilateral relations in its BRICS membership

Addis Ababa, February 9, 2024 (FBC) – The second session of Ethiopia’s BRICS Senior Officials Committee Meeting took place on Thursday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The senior officials, drawn from various federal institutions, deliberated on how to integrate Ethiopia into the BRICS activities and to ensure mutual benefits. They also discussed ways to best serve Ethiopia’s national interests under the BRICS framework.

In its membership, Ethiopia will actively participate in BRICS, with a primary focus on fostering partnerships and collaboration for development, people-to-people relations and supporting the strengthening of the multilateral system.

It is indicated that the Committee reports to the Ethiopian BRICS National Ministerial Committee.
