EU pledges support to Ethiopia’s sustainable dev’t efforts

Addis Ababa, January 12, 2023 (FBC) – The European Union (EU) has pledged that it will continue provision of humanitarian assistance to Ethiopia, according to the National Disaster Risk Management Commission of Ethiopia (EDRMC).

EDRMC Commissioner, Shiferaw Tekle-Mariam held a discussion on Wednesday with Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), Michael Kohler, regarding humanitarian assistance provision and sustainable development efforts in Ethiopia.

Following his consultative meeting with Commissioner Shiferaw, Michael Kohler stated that EU is ready to continue providing humanitarian assistance to Ethiopia.

EU will endeavour to support the disaster risk reduction transformation plans initiated by the EDRMC, he affirmed.

Moreover, the Director General pledged that the European Union will also provide necessary support to sustainable development efforts in Ethiopia.
