Gov’t committed to working with humanitarian partners in pursuant to the country’s legal framework: EDRMC

Addis Ababa, September 1, 2023 (FBC) – Chief Commissioner of Ethiopian Disaster Risk Management Commission Ambassador Shiferaw Teklemariam stated that the Ethiopian government is always committed to working with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in conformance to Ethiopia’s legal framework.

The Commission’s leadership met with the USAID Ethiopia’s new Mission Director Scott Hocklander, his deputies and USAID Ethiopia director of the humanitarian assistance, Dennis Stora.

During their meeting, both sides advised on the issues pertaining to cooperation, challenges and the provision of humanitarian aid.

EDRMC Commissioner Ambassador Shiferaw assured Mr. Hocklander and his entourage of the Ethiopian government’s continued commitment to working with USAID in pursuant to the country’s policy and legal framework.
