Health State Minister meets with WHO Regional Director for Africa

Addis Ababa, September 2, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s State Minister for Health, Dr. Dereje Duguma met Chris Elias, President of Global Development at Gates Foundation on sideline of 73rd session of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa (RC73AFRO) held in Botswana.

The two discussed on issues including activities to combat cervical cancer and polio and strengthen immunization and the health stem in Ethiopia.

Dr. Dereje expressed gratitude to the Gates Foundation for its strong and robust partnership with Ethiopia.

Dr. Dereje also met with Dr. Matshidiso Moeti , WHO Regional Director for Africa to discuss on how to strengthen emergency support in the health care services. The State Minister also discussed with Edwin Dikoloti, Health Minister of Botswana and other dignitaries.

According to the State Minister, Ethiopia shared experiences and learned from member states with good health care practices.
