Houthi attacks on Red Sea Shipping won’t derail growth projections of world economy – IMF

WASHINGTON, February 8 (Sputnik) – The Houthi attacks on Red Sea shipping vessels has implications, but not enough to derail the projected growth of the world economy, International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said on Thursday.

“This has implications but not of the magnitude that would significantly derail growth projections for the world economy,” Georgieva said. “The impact is more localized…it adds a bit of pressure on prices. Not yet to a point that I would say our projection for inflation globally are going to be corrected upwards.”
