IDPS, high officials discuss planned Industrial Park construction in Somali Region

Addis Ababa, January 5, 2021 (FBC) – Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) discussed with high ranking officials of Somali region on pre-construction activities underway to build an industrial park in Ayesha Woreda.

CEO of Industrial Parks Development Corporation, Sandokan Debebe President of Somali Regional State, Mustefe Oumer Mohammed along with federal officials have presided over the discussion which involved presentation of reports on activities including site selection, groundwater survey and other pre-construction works.

Participants also pondered future activities ahead of the beginning of the construction of the Industrial Park in Ayesha Woreda.

Corporation also unveiled a plan to build industrial parks in Jigjiga, Kebri Dihar, Degehabur, Kelafo and other selected areas in Somali region.

Industrial parks to be constructed in Somali are said to have crucial significance in facilitating better environment to utilize untapped natural resources and investment potentials of the region and create more jobs to citizens in the area.
