IGAD Executive Secretary receives prestigious African Achievers Award 

Addis Ababa, July 15, 2023 (FBC) – Executive Secretary of IGAD, Workneh Gebeyehu (PhD) has been awarded the prestigious African Achievers Award for his distinguished leadership at an event at the House of Lords in the UK!

The Award recognised his remarkable leadership and unwavering commitment to the progress and development of Africa. The award is made in recognition of his accomplishments – tireless efforts in promoting peace, stability, and multilateral diplomacy.

The late Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, former Chairperson of the AU, and the late Prof. Attah Mills, former President of Ghana received the same award.
