Inauguration of the Global Black History, Heritage and Education Center underway in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, December 8, 2023 (FBC) – The Inaugural and opening ceremony of the Global Black History, Heritage and Education Center is being held in Addis Ababa, at the African Union Hall, today.

At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Demeke Mekonen said that having the headquarters in Ethiopia is a recognition of Ethiopia’s contribution to the liberation of the black people worldwide.

The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, officials of the African Union Commission, the founders of the center, members of the diplomatic community, representatives of civil societies and other invited guests.
