IOM, Ministry of Peace ink MoU to buttress cooperation

Addis Ababa, October 10, 2023 (FBC) – The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Peace to work together in various spheres and strengthen cooperation.

Peace Minister Bnalf Andualem had discussion with International Organization for Migration  Director-General Amy E. Pope today.

In their discussion, they talked about how the IOM could support the peace building process in Ethiopia and to return and resettle citizens displaced by natural or man-made causes as well as the process of disarming ex-militants from different parts of Ethiopia and reintegrating them into the society.

The memorandum of understanding was signed to strengthen the above-mentioned activities and provide various technical and financial supports, according to a press release of Ministry of Peace.

The new IOM director-general is in Addis Ababa for working visit to Ethiopia.
