IOM vows to provide reintegration assistance to Ethiopian returnees

Addis Ababa, December 14, 2023 (FBC) – The Programme Steering Committee (PSC) for the Migrant Protection, Return and Reintegration Programme for Sub-Saharan Africa (MPRR-SSA) in Ethiopia met to discuss future activities.

According to IOM Ethiopia, 650 beneficiaries are set to get reintegration assistance in the EU-funded Programme implemented by IOM.

The EU-IOM Joint Initiative for Migrant Protection and Reintegration Joint Initiative is a comprehensive programme to save lives, protect and assist migrants along key migration routes in Africa.

The programme enables migrants who decide to return to their countries of origin to do so in a safe and dignified way, in full respect of international human rights standards and in particular the principle of non-refoulement.
