Italy appreciates efforts of Ethiopia to ensure lasting peace and stability

Addis Ababa, June 21, 2022 (FBC) – Dima Noggo, Chairperson of the standing committee for foreign relations and peace at the House of Peoples Representatives, held talks with Piero Fasino, President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italy Chamber of Deputies.

On the occasion organised by the Ethiopian Embassy in Italy, the two parties discussed issues of common interests to further strengthen the long existing bilateral relationship among the two countries.

Dima Nogewo, briefed the president About the current situation in Ethiopia and the efforts of the Government towards ensuring free flow of humanitarian assistance to those in need, ensuring accountability for human rights violations, and facilitating the effort to inclusive national dialogue to find lasting solution to the problems.

Piero Fasino on his part appreciated the efforts of the government of Ethiopia to ensure lasting peace and stability in the country and assure the support of the Italian Government in the process.

The two sides also expressed commitment to work closely to further deepen the existing bilateral relations and concluded the meeting.
