Italy keen to deepen ties with East African nations: Deputy PM

Addis Ababa, September 19, 2023 (FBC) – Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani held a discussion with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen, and his Eritrean and Somali counterparts, Osman Saleh and Abshir Omar, respectively, in New York while attending the Global Summit on Sustainable Development Goals.

The meeting was convened to streamline cooperation in investment, trade,peace and security, and countering terrorism.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegates have agreed to have a coordination platform to address those efforts.
