IWPG, EMWA sign MoU to promote peace

Addis Ababa, March 29, 2024 (FBC) – The Global Region 2 of the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) signed MoU with the Ethiopian Media Women Association (EMWA) to collaborate in promoting peace.

Director of the Global Region 2 of IWPG, Seo-yeon Lee and Executive Board Chairperson of EMWA Rebecca Tadesse signed the MoU representing their respective organizations.

According to the MoU, IWPG will collaborate with EMWA to support and advocate for IWPG’s peace activities, promote the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), train Women’s Peace Lecturers (PLTE), establish networks among Ethiopian media professionals, and create media coverage programs for peace activities.

Chairperson Rebecca Tadesse stated, “I am amazed by IWPG’s diverse international peace activities and collaboration with many media organizations in Ethiopia. I want to continue exchanging with IWPG and collaborating on peace activities.”

IWPG is a global women’s NGO registered with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Department of Global Communications (DGC).

Based in Seoul, South Korea, it actively engages in activities such as Women’s Peace Networks, Women’s Peace Education, Peace culture propagation project, and Advocacy for the enactment of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), collaborating with over 110 branches worldwide and 660 affiliated organizations.
