Japan-backed project launched to build sustainable peace in Gedeo, West Gujji zones

Addis Ababa, May 30, 2023 (FBC) – Japanese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Ito Takako, stated that her government supports efforts to ensure lasting peace and social development in Ethiopia.

A project which aims to build sustainable peace through promotion of livelihood and social cohesion in the neighboring areas of Gedeo and West Guji zones unveiled today in Dilla city.

It is stated that the project will be implemented through Japanese NGO, Good Neighbors Japan, in four bordering woredas of the two neighboring zones with the support of 83 million birr from the Japanese government.

During the launching of the project, Ambassador Ito Takako said that the Japanese government is providing various support to the undertakings to ensure sustainable peace and social development in Ethiopia.
