Kuwait reaffirms commitment to expedite signing of bilateral labor agreement with Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, June 1, 2023 (FBC) – Ambassador Mesganu Arga, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, received Nayef Hapes Al-Otaibi, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Ethiopia, at his office today.

It is said that both sides also exchanged views on various other issues of common interest.

Ambassador Mesganu commended the historic and excellent bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Kuwait. He also expressed his gratitude to the Government of the State of Kuwait for its sustained assistance to Ethiopia at different times.

Ambassador Mesganu also called for additional support to the Ethiopian Government’s reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts in conflict-affected areas. He also emphasized the importance of materializing the Joint Ministerial Commission meeting between the two countries.

In addition, he stressed that both countries should work closely together, alongside the IGAD and the African Union, to help resolve the challenges faced by the Horn of Africa region.

For his part, Ambassador Al-Otaibi reiterated his Government’s commitment to expedite the signing of the bilateral labor agreement and the holding of the first Joint Ministerial Commission meeting.
