Logistic Strategy playing crucial role in addressing sectoral challenges

Addis Ababa, August 16, 2020 (FBC) – Ethiopian Maritime Affairs Authority has stated that the logistic strategy has been playing crucial role in addressing challenges in the sector.

Director General of the Ethiopian Maritime Affairs Authority, Mekonnen Abera said the strategy has been instrumental to alleviate problems stem from imbalances between import-export volume and truck road and railway service access.

He said 52 percent of export containers are now packed locally since last budget year showing a significance increase compared to that of 7 percent achievement during the first Growth and Transformation Plan.

National Logistics Council and Logistics Bureau have been established based on the strategy are playing vital role in transforming the logistics sector, the director added.
