Lucys cruise through to round 2 of Paris 2024 qualifier

Addis Ababa, July 16, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia women’s national team, also known as the Lucys, ease through to round two of the Paris Olympic 2024 Women’s Football Africa Zone Qualifiers as they beat their Chadian counterpart 4-0 in the second leg, 10-0 on aggregate.

In the first leg of their match against Chad on July 13, the Lucys have beaten their opponents with a massive 6-0 scoreline at Abebe Bikila Stadium, Addis Abeba. In today’s return leg at the same venue, the Lucys have beaten their Chadian counterpart four goals to nil.

Loza Abera opened the scoring in the 11th minute, as Senaf Waquma scored a brace on the 20th and 45th minutes, and Tourist Lema got the 4th goal in the 89th minute.

Hence, the Ethiopia national women’s team has gone through to round two of the Africa zone qualifiers.

In the second qualifying round, Ethiopia will face Nigeria in October 2023, Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) confirmed.
