Ministry appoints Commander Derartu Tulu Goodwill Ambassador of Safe Motherhood

Addis Ababa, January 12, 2021 (FBC) – The Ministry of Health has announced the appointment of Commander Derartu Tulu as its Goodwill Ambassador of Safe Motherhood.

Dr Lia Tadesse, Minister of Health, wrote on her Facebook page that Commander Derartu will be Goodwill Ambassador for the next two years.

Dr Lia thanked Commander Derartu for accepting the responsibility and expressed her confidence that Commander Derartu will work with the ministry on maternal issues.

The Ministry of Health started commemorating the annual “Safe Motherhood Month” today.

The commemoration will continue for almost a month.
