Ministry calls for swift distribution of imported soil fertilizer to regions

Addis Ababa, July 27, 2023 (FBC) – The Ministry of Agriculture of Ethiopia (MoA) called for swift distribution of the soil fertilizer transported from Djibouti port to Addis Ababa to the regions.

Minister of State for Agriculture Sophia Kasa paid a surprise visit to the Agricultural Works Corporation in Saris area, Addis Ababa.

During her visit, the Minister of State observed that more than 20 trucks have been parked in Addis Ababa for two days or more without unloading the fertilizer.

Therefore, she gave directions for the soil fertilizer to be unloaded from the heavy trucks and to be distributed to the regions as soon as possible, the Ministry of Agriculture confirmed.

Furthermore, the Minister of State also entrusted the officials of Agricultural Works Corporation to increase the number of stevedores in order to swiftly unload the trucks and distribute the fertilizer available in warehouses to the regions.
