Ministry, Credit Suisse discuss progress of Awash-Woldia railway project

Addis Ababa, January 16, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopia’s State Minister of Transport Awel Wegris met here today with officials of the Credit Suisse bank.

The meeting was mainly focussed on progress of Awash-Woldia-Hara Gebeya railway project.

The State Minister briefed the delegation about the current status of the project.

He also told them the measures taken by the Ethiopian government to address problems related to installation of electric transmission lines.

The railway line is being constructed between Awash and Woldia and will connect the northern and central parts of Ethiopia.

It will also link the country’s northern and eastern transportation networks.

The Awash-Woldia-Hara Gebeya railway project is being built with funding secured from Credit Suisse.
