Ministry plans to register 10,000 volunteers for first-round community service program

Addis Ababa, January 17, 2020 (FBC) –Registration of volunteers have been launched for the national voluntary community service program, said the Ministry of Peace (MoP).

Director General of Strategic Partners Coordination Office at (MoP), Asma Redi, told journalists today that graduates aged 18 to 35 can register to participate in the program.

Eligible graduates can register at district-level security offices or online through the Ministry of Peace’s website, she said.

According to her, the Ministry has planned to register 10,000 volunteers in the first round.

After three months of training, they will be deployed to various parts of the country for community service.

The government will put aside 900 million birr budget for the first round-program, which has a life span of one year.
