Ministry says registered remarkable achievements in attracting more foreign tourists

Addis Ababa, August 4, 2023 (FBC) – The Ministry of Tourism announced remarkable results in the increase of foreign tourist arrivals during the concluded Ethiopian fiscal year, attributing the success to the efforts exerted to attract more visitors to the country.

Communications and Public Relations Head of the Tourism Ministry, Alemayehu Getachew increase of revenue from the tourism sector is among the targets set in place for the concluded budget year.

Concerted efforts have been made to boost foreign exchange earing and job creation through the tourism sector, Alemayehu said, commending the activities carried out to promote attraction sites and expand infrastructures in tourist destinations.

The tourism industry has generated 3.63 billion USD during the last fiscal year, Alemayehu stated, pledging enhanced efforts to attract more international visitors.
