MoI, AfDB discuss progress of Ethiopia’s industry sector, sustainable support

Addis Ababa, September 18, 2016 (FBC) – Delegates of the Ministry of Industry of Ethiopia and African Development Bank Group (AfDB) review the progress recorded by Ethiopia’s manufacturing industry sector and the importance of the Bank’s continuous support to sector.

According to the Ministry of Industry of Ethiopia (MoI), the discussion with the board advisors of the African Development Bank to gain experience in the Ethiopian industrial sector, to learn the government’s direction and policy, and provide sustainable support in the future to the sector.

The delegates also reviewed the impacts of AfDB’s support on the Ethiopian manufacturing sector.

During the discussion, the AfDB delegates were briefed on the progress of the sector, current status of the agro-processing industrial parks, the government’s policy to develop the manufacturing industry sector, the challenges and opportunities that have come about in the process of invigorating the sector.

The Ministry confirmed that the AfDB delegation also visited Yirgalem Agro Industrail Park (YIAIP) and Hawassa Industrial Park (HIP).
