MoWE, Huawei explore avenues for cooperation in smart power technologies

Addis Ababa, January 10, 2024 (FBC) – The Ministry of Water and Energy and Huawei Ethiopia discussed ways of cooperation in Smart Power Technologies.

The Minister of Water and Energy, Habtamu Itefa, Minister of State for Energy, Sultan Woli, and senior officials from the Ethiopian Electric Power, the Ethiopian Electric Utitlity, and Ethiopian Petroleum and Energy Authority were present in the discussion with the delegates of Huawei.

Smart power technologies made by Huawei Digital Power Technologies, sister company of Huawei Ethiopia, have become new energy supply alternative technologies to households, communities far from the main power line, and business firms, it is indicated.

An expert from Huawei highlighted the company’s rich experience in in providing digital power technology services in other countries and asserted that it is also ready to expand that experience in Ethiopia.

It is also pointed out that an agreement was reached to organize a workshop in mid-March, which can widely promote Huawei’s digital power technology services and involve sector institutions, regions and private energy technology supplier companies.
