MoWSA Minister, BBM Regional Director Discuss Cross-Border Cooperation on Child Protection

Addis Ababa, May 10, 2023 (FBC) – Ergogie Tesfaye, Minister of Women and Social Affairs, met and discussed with Pierre Jaubert, regional coordinator of better migration management program (BBM) II Co-Funder by the European for Ethiopia, Eritrea and Djibouti, at her office.

The two sides have discussed on the cross-Border Cooperation on child protection between Ethiopia and Djibouti through facilitating a technical mission to Ethiopia for child protection actors and stakeholders from Djibouti to assess the structure system in place for returning migrant children.

During the meeting, the two also discussed on how they could achieve the intended purpose and dated in the near future on how their collaboration could be expanded.

Ergogie expressed appreciation for the efforts made so far, stating that the program was critical to address the need of migrants.

Pierre, on his part, thanked the Minister and the team for the fruitful discussion they have made and the commitment to work closely on cross-Border Cooperation on child protection and other initiatives.
