National Rehabilitation Commission holding consultation on ex-combatants reintegration in Mekelle

Addis Ababa, March 10, 2023 (FBC) – The National Rehabilitation Commission is holding consultation on reintegration of x-combatants in Mekelle City.

Commissioner of the National Rehabilitation Commission, Ambassador Teshome Toga stated that the consultation is being held in Mekelle City in the wake of the restoration of peace and stability in Tigray Region.

The ongoing consultation shows mutual trust between both particles towards the confidence building measures to ensure lasting peace.

Ambassador Teshome stated that the rehabilitation process would  help socially and economically reintegrate the x-combatants and enable them to contribute their share in peace and democracy building and development activities in the country.

Spokesperson of TPLF, Getachew Reda, for his part, said the consultation would help bring directives on how to implement the rehabilitation initiative at the national level.

UNDP  Ethiopia Resident Representative, Turhan Saleh, called on the international  community to support the rehabilitation process in the country.
