NBE governor meets IMF managing director

Addis Ababa, October 16, 2022 (FBC) – The Governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia, Yinager Dessie, discussed with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Ms. Kristalina Georgieva, in the presence of other African Central Bank Governors.

In the discussion, they exchanged views on issues that should be taken to deal with the current economic challenges in Africa, especially the debt burden, and the rise in the price of oil and basic products.

At the annual meeting of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, which is being held in Washington DC, the Ethiopian delegation led by the Minister of Finance Ahmed Shide is participating in various discussions.
