New curricula development takes shape: Ministry

Addis Ababa, March 17, 2021 (FBC) –A workshop aimed at finalizing the development of the new general education curricula held in the Bahir Dar University.

In her opening remark, Zafua Abrha, representative of Curriculum Development and Implementation Director at the Ministry of Education, said preparation of the curriculum is taking shape.

She stated that the new curricula mainly targeted addressing problems that were in the existing curricula of pre-primary education to secondary school levels.

The representatives further said that the contents of the curricula were evaluated by taking lessons from local and international standard agencies.

The development of the curricula took into consideration towards cultivating ethical students and creating more employment opportunities, she added.

According to her, language, mathematics, science, social science and other professionals took part in the development of the curriculum.
