OBN’s new channel starts trial transmissions

Addis Ababa, April 16, 2020 (FBC) –The second channel of Oromia Broadcasting Network (OBN), a regional broadcaster headquartered in Adama, has started trial transmissions today.

The new channel, called ‘OBN Horn Of Africa’ as per the decision of the regional state, targets strengthening unity and fraternity among people in the east African region, according to Adisu Arega, head of social cluster with the rank of Deputy Chief Administrator of Oromia.

It also aims to enable the Oromo people and the regional state to fulfil their responsibilities in the ongoing efforts to realize regional integration in the horn of Africa.

The new channel will broadcast news, programs and various entertainment shows in Afan Oromo, English, Arbic, Somali, Tigrigna, Swahili, Afarigna, Amharic, Sidamigna and other languages.

The new channel is available at the following frequency:
