Patriarch praises Premier for his achievements

Addis Ababa, September 9, 2020 (FBC) – Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church, His Holiness Abune Merkorios has praised Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed for his achievements over the past years.

The Patriarch has expressed his best wishes to the Premier up on the Ethiopian New Year showing up in the Prime Minister Office today.

His Holiness the Patriarch mentioned the contribution of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in the reunification of the two synods of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church separated for two decades.

Abune Merkorios also thanked Prime Minister Abiy for he has helped the church to reclaim its possessions.

Patriarch lauded the contribution of the Premier in promoting heritages of the Church in newly built parks to the rest of the world.

The Prime Minister has shown his leadership quality in leading the country with wisdom despite circumstances, the Patriarch commended.

Prime Minister Abiy, to his part recognized church’s devotion in prayers during times of crisis asking religious fathers to continue supplication to God for well-being of the nation.
