PM Abiy Ahmed inaugurates dialysis center at Menelik II Referral Hospital

Addis Ababa, May 30, 2022 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed along with Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abiebie and other high officials has inaugurated the dialysis center built at Menelik II Referral Hospital in Addis Ababa.

It is stated on the occasion that the City Administration is building state of the art health facilities to make Addis Ababa a medical tourism hub in the region and enhance access of affordable services for the residents.

“Efforts being undertaken to enhance medical care within our nation are encouraging. The Addis Ababa City’s demonstration of a new dialysis facility through drawing private sector investments is key in addressing the many breakages in our health care system,” Abiy noted on the occassion.

“While appreciating Ethiopians living abroad that have mobilised professionally in service of their country, I encourage many others to multiply such endeavours,” the Premier added.

The Center is said capable to ensure a fivefold increase in the coverage of kidney dialysis service in public hospitals in the capital.
