PM Abiy sends best wishes to Sidama people on occasion of Fichee Chambalaalla

Addis Ababa April 19, 2023 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has extended best wishes to all celebrating Fichee Chambalalla, the New Year festival of Sidama people.

Fichee-Chambalaalla marks the New Year in Ethiopia’s Sidama people’s distinctive calendar.

The celebration is imbued with festive and colorful cultural rituals of welcoming the New Year.

Fichee-Chambalaalla will be celebrated tomorrow, 20 April, in Sidama region.

Fichee-Chambalaalla was inscribed in 2015 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
