Political parties, CSOs urged to contribute share in reconstruction of Tigray

Addis Ababa, December 8, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopians’ Tegaru Organization today held consultation with political parties and civil society organizations (CSOs) operating in Tigray regional state.

Yohannes Goitom, organization’s board chairperson, stressed the importance of teamwork to ensure the benefit of the Tigray people from the on-going political and socio-economic reform activities.

Tigray Prosperity Party Office Head, Nebiyou Sehul Michael, said the efforts being made by political parties and CSOs to contribute their share in the reconstruction of Tigray are encouraging.

Urging CSOs to fulfil their responsibilities in the reform activities underway in the regional state, Nebiyou assured them his party’s commitment to provide needed support to the organizations.

Dr Aregawi Berhe, Chairperson of the Tigray Democratic Party (TDP) for his part highlighted the need for close collaboration among political parties to address problems that the TPLF Junta had created during the past three decades.

He added that problems of Tigray people could be resolved not only by establishing a political parties but also organizing civil society organizations.

Yohannes Goitom on the occasion gave a briefing to the participants about the current situation in the Tigray regional state.
