Premier discusses with French President Emmanuel Macron in Berlin

Addis Ababa, November 20, 2023 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) held a discussion today with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of Compact with Africa Summit in Berlin, Germany.

“Pleased to meet my good brother President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the Compact with Africa Summit,” PM Abiy said in a social media post after his meeting with the French president.

Prime Minister Abiy underscored, “Our strengthened relations and multifaceted cooperation continues to be anchored in trust and mutual interests for sustained development.”

Recall that Prime Minister Abiy attended the Compact with Africa (CwA) Summit this afternoon.

Launched under the German G20 Presidency in 2017, the G20 Compact with Africa (CwA) has become a platform for dialogue and cooperation between reform-oriented African countries, G20 partners and beyond.

The Prime Minister participated in a session focused on economic cooperation and enhancing private sector participation.

On the sidelines of the Summit, the Premier also held bilateral discussions with the leaders of various countries and international organizations.
