Premier visits Expo 2020 Dubai preparations

Addis Ababa, February 15, 2020 (FBC) –Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed today visited Expo 2020 Dubai preparations.

To be opened on October 20, 2020, the Expo will be hosted by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Prime Minister said after the visit that the organizers agreed to employ 10,000 Ethiopians in the development of infrastructure projects related to the expo.

According to him, Ethiopia is also invited to promote its culture and products at the expo.

The Prime Minister further said the African Union (AU) accepted Ethiopia’s bid to host African Expo.

The expo, which is planned to be hosted within 2030, is expected to be the largest expo in the continent, he said.

The Prime Minister said UAE  also agreed to address problems of Ethiopians living without legal documents and open schools for Ethiopia children.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) today opened the last two phases of roads leading to the expo site.
