Premier visits Wheat cluster farming in Shopa Worede, Oromia region

Addis Ababa, March 13, 2021 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed along with Chief Administrator of Oromia Region, Shemelis Abdisa and Former Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn has visited irrigation wheat cluster farming in Shopa Woreda.

Shopa Woreda is locaed in Heben Arsi Zone of Oromia Region which is extensively engaged in irrigation wheat farming as part of national efforts to substitute wheat import with local products.

With 300,000 farmers active in the region’s cluster farming approach, the 160,000 hectares of the 300,000 planned for this year has been achieved in the region, it is stated on the occasion.
