Premier welcomes Maltese Foreign Minister

Addis Ababa, March 23, 2024 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) received Ian Borg, Maltese Minister for Foreign Affairs, EU Affairs & Trade.

“Welcome back to Ethiopia, Ian Borg,” reads Prime Minister Abiy’s post on social media.

PM Abiy stressed that the ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between Ethiopia and Malta across various sectors will continue to grow.

In return, the Maltese FM said, “Thank you PM  Abiy Ahmed for this meeting on my second visit to Ethiopia. I appreciate your commitment to the strengthening of ties between our two countries and for the expansion of our diplomatic and trade relations.”

Recall that the first Ethiopia–Malta Business forum was held in Addis Ababa on March 12, 2024, with the presence of dignitaries from both nations, delegates from 16 Maltese companies, private sector representatives, and various stakeholders.
