President Sahle-Work attends ‘Global Women Leaders Voices’ meeting in Madrid

Addis Ababa, January 26, 2024 (FBC) – President Sahle-Work Zewde participated in a meeting organized by the Global Women Leaders Voices in Madrid on January 22 and 23 under the theme “It is Women’s turn to reshape the Future”.

In a fire side chat on women in politics, President Sahle-Work said the imperative is to hold real political power where structural impediments are addressed and more women are in political parties and in parliaments.

“What keeps us going is the service to our countries, that we have a place and role,” the President stressed.

The president also paid a courtesy call to King Filipe VI of Spain and also met President of the Government Pedro Sanchez. President Sahle-Work also met with former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
