Private operators approved to operate regular passenger and cargo flight services

Addis Ababa, May 15, 2016 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority has granted approval to local private operators to operate regular passenger and cargo flight services.

The authorization is said crucial in encouraging more investors to enter the sector and enable the air transportation industry to contribute to the overall development in the country.

The existing regular domestic flights connect regions mainly with the capital Addis Ababa, but the new accreditation would play a significant role in promoting interregional social and economic link through the air transportation sphere.

The approval is also said to contribute its part in making tourist destination areas easily accessible to local and international tourists.
