Quadrilateral agreement inked on Digital Ethiopia 2025 Strategy

Addis Ababa, July 19, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Ministry of Innovation and Technology has inked a quadrilateral agreement with Sumitomo Corporation, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Safaricom Ethiopia to establish a taskforce to be mandated for the realization of the Digital Ethiopia 2025 Strategy.

During the signing ceremony, Innovation and Technology Minister, Belete Molla (PhD) stated that the government is working with various stakeholders to make Digital Ethiopia 2025 Strategy a reality.

The partnership agreement is aimed to expand digital infrastructures, ameliorate financial services and boost cyber security and enhance the Digital ID program.

The Signatories, for their part, pledged their commitment to contribute their share for the realization of the strategy.
