Reconstruction of war-torn institutions in Amhara region begins in South Gondar

Addis Ababa December 28, 2022 (FBC) – The Amhara Regional State has begun reconstruction of war-torn institutions in South Gondar Zone.

Regarding the commencement of the reconstruction works, the Chief Administrator of the Amhara Regional State, Yilkal Kefale said, in a social media post, that the damaged caused to institutions in the area has shown how war is destructive, explaining that “Ethiopia was dragged to the existential war without its consent.”

“We have lost many of our compatriots. Large amount of properties have been damaged due to the war,” he noted, pledging regional government’s commitment to rebuild damaged facilities and infrastructures within a short period of time.

Concerted efforts will be exerted to rebuild and restore infrastructures and facilities ravaged due to the war, the Chief Administrator added.
