Regional Leaders denounce TPLF incitement, affirm support to the federal government

Addis Ababa, November 4, 2020 (FBC) – Leaders of Regional governments have denounced the incitement from TPLF and affirmed support to the federal government to maintain nation’s peace and stability.

President of Oromia Regional State, shemelis Abdissa has stated a stance to stand with the federal forces and the general public to defend the provocation carried out by TPLF against the Ethiopian Defense Force.

Shemelis said the TPLF force has attacked a military camp in the region during the last night thereby declared the war against the federal government.

TPLF has been arming the Oromo Leberation Front- Shene group and supporting its act of violence against civilians, Shemelis said.

Oromia Regional State is committed to stand with the federal power in order to peace and stability in the country, he added calling to the people to keep vigilant on any anti peace threats  to safeguard public security.

Amhara Regional State President, Temesgen Tiruneh said an attempt made by TPLF to assault in Soroka and Kirakir aras has been fully defended.

TPLF led Tigray Special Force and Militia have carried out coordinated attack on a camp of Northern Command of the Military Forces and other infrastructure facilities in the area.

Amhara Special force has fully thwarted the provocation instigated by the TPLF force in border line.

“The public has to stand with the government in supporting the military measures to Squash TPLF for one last time.” Tmesgen said.

The Regional government of Benshangul Gumuz, in a statement issued today, also said the people of the region has been saddened by the provocative action triggered by TPLF affirming commitment to the federal power for wellbeing of the country.

The Statement said previous turbulences in the region were orchestrated by the TPLF forces, calling all to preserve peace and security and show solidarity for the defense forces.

Deputy President of Southern Nations Nationalities and Peoples, Ristu Yirdaw, to his part said TPLF has been causing complicated problems to the social, economic and political welfare of the countries in the country, calling describing its incitement a threat to the nation.

He called for coordinated efforts from the leadership, security forces and general public to protect the nation from potential chaos calling up on the general public to be aware of identity based violence that might be orchestrated by TPLF urging the media professionals especially to address the community trustworthy information.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed early in this morning stated that the Defense ForcesOur defence have been ordered to carry out their mission to save the country. The final point of the red line has been crossed. Force is being used as the last measure to save the people and the country,” the Premier said.

Desta Dalemo, President of Sidama Region condemned the attack from TPLF targeting the military camp calling forces acting against the reform to refrain from their misconduct, adding the region is ready to counteract hostility they triggered.

Deputy President of Somali Region Mustafa Oumer, to his part expressed region’s full solidarity with the federal government in counteracting the incitement from TPLF.

In his statement, Mostafa said TPLF has sown barbaric, disintegrative and racist agenda on the nation and caused complicated social and political problem to the country, saying “It is the right time to bring an end to TPLF.”

The harari region, in an statement it issued, pledged solidarity to the federal government in order to help the nation successfully complete the offensive with victory.

Oumed Ujulu, President of Gambela Region also said TPLF has made treason against the national pledging necessary support to the federal power, and calling security forces of the region to play their role in protecting security of the community.
