Renovated former Ethiopian chancery building in Djibouti inaugurated

Addis Ababa, May 6, 2022 (FBC) – The Inauguration ceremony of the former Ethiopian Chancery building renovation project in Djibouti held on Thursday in the presence of government officials and members of the diplomatic community.

Ambassador of Ethiopia to Djibiouti, Birhanu Tsegaye, the Finance Minister, Ahmed Shide, the Foreign Affairs State Minister, Birtukan Ayano and Djiboutian officials attended the inauguration ceremony.

The newly renovated building is a historical structure for both countries, as it’s served as the Ethiopian Embassy and consulate since the 2nd half of the 20 century from 1960 to 2003, it is stated on the inaugural ceremony.

This structure is more than just a building; it is a historical landmark for both Ethiopia and Djibouti, cementing it as the physical embodiment of Ethiopia-Djibouti diplomatic relations, Ambassador Birhanu Tsegaye said.
