Repatriation of Ethiopian migrants from Saudi ends after 131,642 citizens returned home

Addis Ababa, April 4, 2023 (FBC) – Disaster Risk Management Commission (DRMC) announced the conclusion of repatriation of Ethiopian migrants from Saudi Arabia after 131,642 citizens returned home since last year.

The Government has spent 493 million birr for the repatriation task as additional 50 million birr was appropriated by partners for the same purpose, according to Public Relations Head of DRMC, Debebe Zewde.

Debebe added that the returnees have been provided with necessary supports including psychotherapy services and reinstated to their families.

Ministry of Labor and Skills has also provided the returnees with trainings on entrepreneurship and business skills improvement.
