Road construction, maintenance machinery worth $600mln dispatched to regions

Addis Ababa, June 6,2021 (FBC) – The Federal Road Fund Office has today dispatched 21 road construction and maintenance machinery purchased with more than 600 Million USD to regional states.

The allocation of the machinery to regions is aimed to support regional states in expanding road access and restoring degraded rural roads ahead of the upcoming rainy season.

Office announced procurement of 12 additional machines to be distributed to regional states soon.

Ethiopian Road Fund Office which plans to increase its annual resource mobilization to 2 Billion and 14 Million Birr has so far collected more than 23 Billion Birr which it has appropriated for maintenance of over 500,000 km of road in several parts of the country.

Speaker of the House of Federation Adem Farah and the Minister of the Transport Ministry Dagmawit Moges have presided over the handover ceremony.
