Road projects built at a cost of over 2bn birr inaugurated in the capital

Addis Ababa, October 15, 2023 (FBC) – Nine asphalt highway road construction projects built at a cost of more than 2 billion birr were opened for services in Addis Ababa city.

The inaugurated road projects include Bole Michael Highway Bridge, Ararat Hotel – Kotebe College, Kotebe College – Kara (Lot 2), Kera Kebt Beret – Gofa Mebrat Hayl, Kechene – Kuskuam, Semit 40/60 Condominiums, Ayat 2 Condominiums, and Ayat 4 main site.

In her speech at the opening ceremony, Mayor of Addis Ababa City Administration, Adanech Abiebie, said that the road projects are more than 20 kilometers long and the formation width is up to 43 meters.

The completion of the construction of the roads has a typical role in easing the traffic flow, reducing travel time and cost, changing the image of the capital and creating job opportunities to its inhabitants, she said in a message published on her social media page.

The Mayor also stated that the completion of the constructions will play a major role in ensuring road safety and improving the city’s social interaction and stimulating the economy.

Adanech emphasized that the construction of these projects is a practical demonstration of the city administration’s commitment in initiating and completing projects, living up to the promises pledged to the community and responing to the demands and apeals of the society in real terms.
