Russia reiterates readiness to strengthen its cooperation with Ethiopia in information network security

Addis Ababa, December 1, 2022 (FBC) – Russia has reiterated readiness to increase its cooperation with Ethiopia in digitalization, information network security and digital skills.

The FDRE Minister of Innovation and Technology, Belete Molla, held a discussion with a delegation, led by Maxim Parshin, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.

In their discussion, the MoIT Minister, Belete Molla requested Russia to continue strengthening its support for Ethiopia’s digital transformation aspirations.

He said that Ethiopia is ready to learn from Russia’s experience in digital skills and information network security.

Maxim Parshin, for his part, said that his country will cooperate in electronic government services, digital skills, information network security and other areas, as per the FDRE Ministry of Innovation and Technology.

The parties also discussed the progress of preparations for the upcoming Intergovernmental Russian-Ethiopian Commission (to be held in Addis Ababa on December 6-8), development of the legal framework between the two countries in the field of information and communication technologies.
