Russian CEC Says 11 People Participating in Presidential Election Currently

MOSCOW, January 11 (Sputnik) – Eleven candidates are participating in Russia’s presidential election campaign at the moment, and eight of them have been nominated by political parties, Central Election Commission (CEC) Head Ella Pamfilova said on Thursday.

“Let me remind you once again and clarify what is happening now: at this stage, we have 11 people participating in the election campaign, although at different stages. Eight of them were nominated by political parties, three were nominated by self-nomination — so far this is everyone who is currently participating in the election campaign,” Pamfilova said at a CEC meeting.
