Saudi Arabia urged to stop detaining Ethiopian migrants

Addis Ababa, August 10, 2021 (FBC) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Saudi Arabia, Lencho Bati has conferred with the Saudi Foreign Affairs Minister, Ahmed Qattan on issues regarding Ethiopian migrants in the country.

On the occasion, the Ambassador Lencho called on the Saudi government to stop detaining Ethiopian migrant workers in lock-ups and implement announce and implement proclamation that grants full pardon and amnesty to undocumented migrants.

The Saudi Foreign Minister Ahmed Qattan, to his part vowed to take the issue to the Ministry of Interior so as to seek possible solution to stop detention of Ethiopian migrants in his country.
