Schools to reopen in Mekelle city next week

Addis Ababa, February 3, 2021 (FBC) –Mayor of Mekelle city interim administration Ataklti Hailesilassie said schools will be reopened in the city next week.

Initially schools were closed in the regional state due to COVID-19 pandemic and later because of the law enforcement operation conducted in the regional state.

As peace and security have been restored in the city now, schools will be reopened on Feb 8 by putting in place the necessary COVID-19 preventive measures, he said.

The mayor called on parents to send their children to schools. According to Ataklti, public services have now returned to normalcy in the city.
